As opposed to the big bag of dead genuine Makita brand NiCd and NiMH power tool batteries I have to take to the recycling center, I have had ZERO failures since I started buying Lenmar brand. They charge, they hold a charge, and they don't go dead prematurely. This applies to 9.6- and 12-volt NiCD and NiMH batteries, not to Makitas's newest LiOn - I know nothing about those. Lenmar also cost less than Makita batteries and Quill comes up with a really good deal sometimes.
