Comments about Martin Furniture Huntington Oak Office Collection in Wheat Finish; Right Hand L-Workstation:

This wonderful piece came pre-assembled in 2 pieces (desk and workstation)in excellent packaging. It was very easy to connect both pieces following the instructions. We were missing better instructions on how to connect the computer cables to the surge protector (After examining closely, actually only two tiny screws had to be removed for pulling out the surge protector). Connecting the cables was pretty difficult since there is not much room to work with both hands guiding the cables through the hole in the desktop compartment to connect them to the surge protector. We had to remove the upper drawer, but it was still very tight. Best is to work with 2 people so one can catch the cable once you thread it through the hole. Removing the drawer was a task by itself. Eager not to break anything it took us quite a while to figure out how to do it without instructions. We love the surge protector and the possibility to neatly stow away the cables but the instructions definitely need improvement. Not everybody dares to unscrew the protector and then remove the plate with a knife (it sits very tight).
The desk is roomy, has ample storage (2 file drawers, 4 regular drawers on each side, and one flat drawer in the center), cable guides with caps on both sides. The only downturn is the space in the corner. Since the keyboard drawer is on the very left side of the workstation, there is not much room for your left elbow. Also, the space for your knees is narrowed by the desktop compartment. A tall man or woman would encounter some discomfort here. Due to the above mentioned cons we give this desk combination only 4 stars, but overall, this is a beautiful and very attractive desk with lots of features and storage, and a great deal for the price.
