A wireless winner

Comments about Microsoft Explorer Touch Mouse; Wireless:
I picked this mouse up when my MAC mouse died. It had been getting worse for so long, that this one felt like I had upgraded from a bicycle to a ferari! It was intended to act as a temporary replacement, but I think I'll just keep this one. I really like the smooth glide of the mouse and the wireless feature makes it easy for my lefty colleague to use my machine. The scroll feature tends to stick on occasion, but it self corrects if I turn the mouse off and on again. All in all I would say this is an excellent product.

About Me Casual User
I like the design, but the scrolling is slow to respond. I have to hit the button two or three times before it starts working. Other than that I like this mouse. It glides very smoothly, comfortable design with a sleek and slim style. Just takes some adjustment after using a regular scrolling mouse. I also like the feature of scrolling from side to side. I have use other Microsoft mice, but this one is far superior.

Less than expected
By disappointed soul

I was so disappointed. I expected it to be far above the others, but the tracking is hard to keep up with. When I scroll, I often lose the cursor or it goes way beyond what I want. I tried adjusting it, but there were no good directions-too difficult to figure out.
Disappointed, not worth the price

Most of the time the cursor movements are ok, not as controlled as I would expect from a expensive mouse. At times the cursor justs jumps around and is almost impossible to position accurately. Tried on multiple surfaces. The shape is not conducive to control and the scroll mechanism is awkward.
Working great so far.

This is the first Microsoft mouse I have ever bought independently from a desktop. So far it is working great. The settings console could be a little more user friendly. The sliders on the settings program don't offer much in the way customization when working with the middle touch strip scrolling settings. It is very 1-20 with no halves. Other than that I don't really have any complaints. I have yet to try the app specific settings. It flows nicely on any surface and the click response it very quick and accurate.
Decent, but quirky & needing improvment

This is an OK mouse, but it's definitely quirky and needing some work. Thanks to Apple's inane changes with the implementation with Mountain Lion, I had to stop using my MS Explorer mouse with my Macbook, which was a great mouse. This mouse came the closest in 4-button fucntionality of a MS mouse, which is still better than the Logitech mice. The touch scroll fucntion is decent, but occasionally goes spastic and doesn't seem to know when to stop or which direction you've scrolled in. If you do like I did and set the click fucntions on the swipe tab to be a forward and back keys for Web navigation, definitely be prepared for a lot of annoyance, esp. with the middle click to be the Expose function in Mountain Lion. The mouse frequently is very finicky in recognizing the clicks for forward and back by forcing very precise touches as the top and bottom of the pad, frequently construing either touch to be an Expose click instead, which suggest MS need to rework the recognition pad below the panel and redefine greater areas for the clicks at the top and bottom.I am reticent to really recommend this mouse, but since it's slightly above average and one of the few mice that work with Mountain Lion, I will.
I wouldn't buy it again

Not good for photo editing and illustrations. Can't select a smooth scroll, either text line by line or several lines at a time. Some wheel versions do scrolling by pixel which gives better feel and more control when it is not lines of text.Accuracy is average, I tested several surfaces and found it difficult to select accurate image segments.
Overall, very nice....

This mouse is very comfortable and the touch strip for scrolling works very well. The mouse is compatible with the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center software (free download from MS)and Windows 8. My only complaint is that the mouse wants to slide off the slightly canted keyboard tray attached to my desk. Also, the wireless receiver was too far from the mouse when plugged into the back of my tower PC on the floor next to the desk. Plugging the receiver into the USB hub on my desk made it work reliably.
Touch Mouse Great Purchase

I am very satisfied with this purchase. The ergonomical shape adjusts perfectly to my hand. My hand is small,I must say. Easy scrolling up, down, sideways. I am enjoying it very much...and no wires! The horizontal scroll is really, really useful. What will they think of next?
