recently purchased a dell inspiron 17 did not have outlook so I purchased at staples. Love the machine, having problems with MS8.1 but im coming from XP Pro so I have catching up to do. Outlook is great and doing everything I need past, present and future. Also bought QuickBooks 2014 for an upgrade; and used Staples Tech support to get started and hooked up.
After my daughter exported address book from old laptop usin thumb drive and imported it into new laptop, I was fine. Certainly expected the tech staff at Staples to be able to do this tor me. Very disappointed that they couldn't.
What a disappointment!!! I'm really struggling to get my address book and folders from my old laptop (airliner broke it). This is definitely unacceptable and wish I had not purchased this product for my new laptop. Have to hand enter all of my address and also the pictures emailed to me previously (old laptop). SAD, SAD, SAD!!!!!
With support for XP ending, bought a new laptop and, not unexpectedly, my 2003 Outlook was not compatible. Reasonably simple to install. I used the "Auto Install" function to establish a Comcast account and, although it worked and I could receive my e-mail, it didn't auto-delete e-mails that had been downloaded from the servers. Tried a number of different methods, to no avail, as the "Leave a copy on the server" was no longer an option to uncheck. Finally discovered that the Auto Install had configured it as an IMAP, rather than POP3, so I had to uninstall everything and redo it manually. Works perfectly now, although it seems Microsoft did its usual thing of changing the locations/tabs for different tasks and functions.
