Enjoying this little addition to my travel items. Seems versatile. Does well with the keyboard. The stylus works well. Screen bright and easy to see. Haven't used a lot yet but think I will get to use a variety of ways. The usb port and Sd card slot bring potential uses. The Skype seems to work well. Still exploring how long battery lasts but no issues thus far.

I was looking for something small I could use and wanted to do more than just access email, social media, and use the internet. Initially, I purchased a small but more traditional lap top computer. I soon learned and did my research about the Surface Pro. The Staples staff I worked with were extremely helpful and allowed me to exchange what I had originally purchased for the Surface Pro (I also purchased the hard keyboard). I am not technically savvy and this is the first "tablet" I have ever used. I was able to load the full "office" program and have been using this both for business and personal use. I have traveled with this to Europe and have had no problems thus far. I think my biggest learning curve has been getting used to Windows 8. The Surface Pro was a bit more money than I intended to spend. However, I am very happy with my purchase.

There are only a few machines in this category and after much research I chose this. I have tried but have not yet bought the keyboard. I use it on my lap or dock it ( with a single wireless dongle) to my samsung wireless monitor which also connects it to my wireless keyboard and touch mouse.

I have Windows 8 on two notebooks and it's actually great. Windows 8 Is not quite ready for prime time on tablets in my opinion. I am looking forward to refinements expected in 8.1. really no complaints with the hardware. keep in mind it's a compromise and that it does not do tablet as well as ipad and as a pc you may want to have a desktop dock setup for any heavy lifting.

Until now I've had to lug my 12 lb laptop in order to have a fully functional computer on the road. This machine is fantastic. At less than 2 lbs (with the great type cover/keyboard), I not only have full MS Office Pro but also some Adobe CSS programs, WordPerfect and other productivity programs on it. Installing my CD/DVD based programs was a snap thanks to a 32 g flash drive. Windows 8 Pro makes this the fastest booting computer I have ever used. Connected to my home wifi network instantly with full access to my network printer and other computers including an old Vista based machine. The only minor problem for my aging eyes is the smallness of the font/ribbon icons in Office, but, you can adjust the resolution without loosing a wonderfully sharp screen. This is a winner, a great combination of hardware and operating system!

I purchased this in late April 2013, and returned it the same day. I was hoping that this would be a good tablet for my electronic health record software which I connect through using Internet Explorer's RDP to a main server. Unfortunately the SLOWNESS was a high negative for this tablet. I have much higher connection speeds using my iPad connected through RDP and running a local machine. I was disappointed that it didn't work out, since it has a nice feel to it.

Bought the pro two weeks ago. Very easy to set up and customize to my needs. Was able to set up my wireless brother printed to it, and use it like I would my laptop. There were more apps then what I was expecting. A couple of the social media apps were a little slow and need some tweeking, but, the windows 8 apps concept is still new and being worked on, so nothing is going to be perfect! I purchased the touch key board as well, and it works better then what I expected! Able to navigate using the mouse pad better then what I thought. This product, including key board, has gone above and beyond what I expected. My use for this device is as normal as I used my laptop. I am a full time online student, and I am able to do all my work from this device. I love how portable it is, or how stationary it can be. It read my toshiba external hard drive with no problems. Was able to load an anti-virus program on it (I use bitdefender for windows 8) as well as purchased microsoft office 365 (which btw is the BEST office I have ever used!) The sky drive is easy to use and amazing concept for microsoft. I am very impressed with all of these new features they have rolled out. For anyone who loves the idea of tablets, this is by far the best on the market. Fast, fluid, user friendly, convienant...It works just like a laptop would but is more portable. I love this product and so incredibly happy with my purchase!
