Update from XP Home to Windows 7 Pro
By Jim

About Me Quality Oriented
Comments about Microsoft Windows 7; Professional Upgrade:
Install was pretty easy, following directions. Upgrading from XP home edition, necessary to back up all files and reinstall software. Enhanced user experience over windows XP. Took the time to research whether to install 32 bit vs 64 bit option, decided upon 32 bit based upon age of system (5 yrs) and maximum ram capability of 4 gig, even though my processor could handle 64 bit software. Right now am running 1 gig ram and it works O.K., will upgrade ram to 4 gig to improve performance. Gave it 4 stars only because of high cost, otherwise 5.

About Me Value Oriented
Upgrading from Windows XP took extra steps to get Windows 7 up and running. It works well with all other Windows 7 computers on our network.

Easy to install and it's like getting a new computer after doing a clean install on my PC.
complicated to install
By DeeJay the Backroom Guy

Installation required reloading all existing programs, which was inconvenient because we didn't have all the installation media for them. We hired a technician for the network installation, and it took considerably more time than we anticipated.

Good solid OS. Much fewer bugs than Win XP. Finds missing drives 85% of the time. Recommend clean install. Buy a new hard drive and load it there. Works great.
Good Product

The only bad thing is that some older software is not compatible going from 32bit to 64bit. Load time very quick compared to Windows XP.
So far much better than Vista

Fast starting, the best so far MicroSoft a huge step foreward! But why should we the public have to pay for Bill Gates mistakes? He has Billions of dollars, it's hard times for the rest of us. At least this isn't a Beta Version or so full of errors like usual, and charges $45.00 and hour to speak with a technician that may or may not have an answer,
