This is easy to assemble and is sturdy enought to hold the weight of many hanging files. If the files are not tightly packed, however, they slip off the railing easily. The metal stop to hold files does not slip on easily and is very difficult to adjust. It rolls well and slides easily under a desk and out of the way and is great for storing active project files off the desk.

THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE ASSEMBLED THIS, AND I FOUND THE 'CLIPS' THAT ARE CLIPPED ONTO THE LEGS WERE MADE POOR. POOR FITTING. POOR IN HOLDING THEIR POSITION, AND POOR IN STAYING CLIPPED. OTHER KITS USING THESE LEG-CLIPS HAVE ALL BEEN MUCH EASIER TO WORK WITH, AND MUCH-BETTER DESIGNED, AND OF A MUCH BETTER PLASTIC. THIS KIT WAS THE WORST.
AND THUS MADE THE ASSEMBLY OF THIS UNIT VERY SLOW, AND QUITE FRUSTRATING. I WAS CONSTANTLY RE-FITTING THE CLIPS BACK ON THE LEGS....AND IT DID SEEM ENDLESS AT TIMES. ALL OTHER PARTS OF THIS KIT WERE EASY TO WORK WITH, AND THE FINISH ON THE METAL SEEMED TOUGH, AND SHOULD LAST WITH LITTLE CARE NEEDED. SUPRISED YOU DID NOT PACKAGE THIS WITH A 'STARTER' SET OF FILES IN BOTH SIZES, WITH PLASTIC CLIP LABEL TAPS. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AN 'INSTANT-FEEL-GOOD' THRILL ON COMPLETING THE
TEDIOUS BUILDING PROCESS, AND POSITIONED THE UNIT AS A 'FRIEND' AND NOT A TASK THAT YOU NEVER LOOK FORWARD TO DOING AGAIN. I COULD ONLY SUGGEST THIS PRODUCT, AS IT IS PACKAGED NOW, TO SOME ONE THAT IS REALLY HANDY IN ASSEMBLY SKILLS.....REALLY.
ANOTHER IDEA YOU MIGHT CONSIDER IS OFFERING THE STORAGE SYSTEM IN A FEW COLORS OTHER THAT BLACK.
TRADITIONAL COLORS SUCH AS: WHITE/SILVER-GREY/ CHROME, OR OTHER METALIC MATERIALS. ALSO, YOU COULD SET OUT OF THE BOX AND TRY A FEW DESIGNER COLORS LIKE: ORANGE, LIME GREEN, DARK BROWN, BLUE, OR EVEN A MAGENTA-PINK. AND THUS MERCHANDISE IT FOR MORE HOME APPLICATIONS INCLUDING STUDENTS, MAKING IT MORE INTERESTING TO TEEN/HIGH SCHOOL & COLLEGE GIRLS....AND EXPANDED USES IN THE HOME, THE STUDIO, THE WORKPLACE/GARAGE, AND JUST EXPAND ITS CURRENT POSITIONING, WHICH IS ACTUALLY QUITE FOCUSED ON SMALL OFFICE APPLICATOINS. YOU COULD CONSIDER ADDING SOME MODULAR PLASTIC UNITS THAT YOU INCREASE THE USAGE SOME OF THE BOTTOM SHELF SPACE.

This file is as advertised. It is useful in keeping active project files available and easily rolled from under the desk to keep desktop clear. It's a tight squeeze, but it can even hold the plastic open file boxes, so that more than one active project file can be organized with this rolling file. The lower shelf is really only good for horizontal storage of paper, for example.

I purchased this file system for my boss (and the smaller model for myself). He's glad to get all the extra files off of his desk and have a place to put them quickly. Given there's no lid/closure, it makes it easy to grab and go, or drop a file in when you're on your way out the door. Filing systems (large and small models) were easy to assemble and can be stored under a desk so you're not compromising office space. I work in a small office so this is perfect.

I am no mechanical genius, but I put this together myself in under 30 minutes with distractions. To make sure you're getting what you want, visit [@], too, because they have some other options I didn't see at Staples. All a matter of personal preference.

I surfed many sites to find a cart for home use. Knew exactly what I was looking for. Worried that the cart would be flimsy, cheapy. Called customer svc w/ my questions, they were so helpful, called me back next day after checking things for me. Finally placed an order AND THE CART WAS WAY BETTER THAN I HAD EXPECTED! That was a real surprise. Very sturdy and spacious. A really good buy.
