I use it on a netbook with XP and the combination is slow, but it works fine once I go thru the manual connection process each time I turn on my computer. My previous adapter software could remember network connections.

I find the speed to be slow..very slow at times. Must say I am not sure if Charter contributes to slow problems. It reacts normal but mostly slower than normal.
I would suggest buying a higher-end unit.

I was nervous about being able to set up my wireless connection. All I had to was plug the adapter into any available port on my PC and it automatically pulled up the available wireless networks. I clicked on mine, entered the password and it was working in seconds. Great product and anyone can install it on their older PC if it does not recognize wireless connections, this solves the problem with minimal effort.
