My 6 year old grandson was complaining to his mother, our daughter, that his fingers hurt when he used a pencil. His mother, also said, that he didn't hold a pencil correctly. My husband and I walked into Staples looking for pencil grippers that would act like a cushion when held a pencil in his hand. I am a retired first grade teacher and I remember this issue with some students. An exercise to use on a child who does not hold a pencil correctly is to use an eye dropper, dish with water and food coloring, and a napkin or paper towel. Remind the child to use a three finger squeeze around the bulb of the eye dropper and then release the droplets onto the paper towel or napkin. It's a fun activity and muscle memory willl assist. Another helpful tip is for a young child to use a short pencil, or crayon when writing and drawing. My Three Finger Squeeze Activities, with your Eraser Value Pack cushions and eraser tips, was a big hit. Not only does he three finger squeeze on the cushioned tip but he can also pick the color of the eraser heads on the pencils. Great Product!!!!! It was not available at the store. So with the assistance of a very helpful Staples employee we ordered the pack on-line right there in the store. Quickly delivery......end of story and a happy 6 year old boy
