Comments about Olympus DM-620 Digital Voice Recorder:
I've used others, and this is the simplest to use and is the most trustworthy. Very straightforward, great that it records in various formats.

I use this to record a weekly lecture and upload to a website for access by others. This is easy to use and the sound quality is great. I'm not a gadget person so I especially like how easy it is to use.
an excellent companion every where I go.

Upgrading from my Olympus DS-330
By Roger
from FDL Wisconisn
I am 52 years old, compaired this to the 199.00 Sony, my eyes found this screen more comfortable to read. As stated I am replacing my old Olympus DS-330 with this unit as the old DS-330 is not supported in windows 7, I assume. I don't know what the issue is with Olympus customer service however, as one other customer has mentioned, forget getting in touch with them, there seems to be nobody there. I also agree the instructions assisting with set up are complicated, frustrating, and you need a magnifying glass to read them. My old DS-330 was just as busy and goofy to set up as this thing. However, having been there with my old unit, the best way to set this up is via the software that comes with it. Load the software on your computer, update the software, rename the folders, then plug the recorder into your computer and have your computer download the changes to the recorder. I work in home health care so all I need to do with this recorder is makes notes to myself, record medical instructions related to the patients I look after, yes, with their permission, and phone conversations. I have an Ipod touch, so the music drama this thing offers is not of any real use to me, hence my point about Olympus loosing focus on the target market. As my old unit was also reliable, tough, well built, and dependable, this was another reason for my staying with the Olympus brand.

Good DVR! The menu is a bit confusing at first but is manageable with practice. Overall a good product.

About Me Tech Savvy
I've only had this one for a short time but so far, it's miles ahead of the Sony IC recorder ICD-UX70. I especially like the fact that it comes with rechargable batteries. All in all, for ease of use and configurability, this recorder is great. I have not yet found anything negative to say about it.

Impossible to use!

About Me Technically Challenged
This Olympus recorder has directions written by a computer person such as "default","home", etc. I don't know what they mean but they weren't present for my last Olympus which unfortunately drowned. To erase there are at least two more directions when the old directions worked beautifully. There are so many distractions on the "face" I haven't begun to find what they are. I have read the directions and my IQ is well above average. It angers me that I am encouraged to feel stupid because I can't understand impossible directions. My first reaction is they are written by a male engineer with English being the second language. Yes, now I can down load music from my computer but these directions are so involved and difficult I will never enjoy this recorder or even find out what potential it may have to meet my needs and likes.
