The only issue that I have with the product is the sound, low volume, even with the control way up. Sounded like static in the play back.

I had another very similar recorder and lost it, so I got this one. It's almost identical to the old one except it has a VCVA function. This is designed to eliminate recording of silent "dead air." The problem is when recording a meeting, it stops recording in between statements people make, causing the loss of continuity, context and half the words. I did manage to reset it so it wasn't so sensitive but I am unable to figure out how to turn this function off altogether. What if I am recording a concert? The quiet portions of the music as as important as the loud ones and I don't want a little machine deciding for me. Other than that, it works fine. Batteries last, sound quality is good. It's compatible with my Mac. I didn't have to install any special software in order to use it.

Took it out of the box and ready to use. Straight forward ease of use and transfers to my MAC with no problems. Good quality sound.

I felt that the speakers were not up to par. Had difficulty understanding playback. I tried playing back at different volumes and still had difficulty at times understanding what was being recorded.

It has done an excellent job recording meetings in which we have had up to 20 participants. Sound quality is very good with ear phones. The only weakness is that it is not very loud when playing through the speaker. I am very pleased with its performance. I have not copied data over to my laptop yet, but is has that capability through a USB cable that comes with it, which is a nice feature.

The audio quality from the internal speaker is poor.

The only way to acheive good quality sound is to copy the files and play the recording from a computer.
