It worked great and felt easy to use. the lead seems to break easily if yu apply the slightest pressure hough, which could become a hassle to anyone who writes fast and tends to be a little abrasive when they are holding a pencil. the soft cushion grip that surrounds the pencils feels very nice though, considering the weak pressure it can ressist. Overall, the pencil is an interesting buy since it comes with 2 mechanical pencils, as well as, extra eraser edges that can be used on other pencils.

Hoped this would end the discomfort in my hand from taking notes for a long period; it didn't. In fact, it seemed to be worse than previous pencils. The metal clip dug into my skin, and the cushioned barrel didn't provide the cushion where I needed it. In addition, the 0.5 mm lead did not appear to be any neater/cleaner than any 0.7 mm pencil. Though the lead resisted breakage, it was constantly dull. I exchanged this set for a UniBall Kuru Toga pencil, even though the UniBall costs a bit more. To me, writing with the UniBall was superior enough that I even went back and bought a second. The Staples coupon made it 50% off, and well worth the extra two bucks.

Good, simple pencil. I hate sharpening regular pencils. I just click the button and I get more lead. It was the cheapest at the Staples store. Awesome!

I have been through many mechanical pencils trying to find the right one without paying a fortune. This Paper Mate Comfortmate fits all that I was looking for. The package even came with extra lead and erasers. Took a little time to lighten my press on the lead, but now it works great and the lead lasts a long time.

Two of my sons love these pencils. They like them so well that they even keep track of them. They don't get forgotten or lost . They prefer the 5mm size. I myself prefer the thicker lead. We have both in this style pencil. The biggest drawback is that we live in a rual area and don't always get to places that carry the smaller lead refills. I have now gotten into the habit of stocking up when we get to staples. Being the papermate brand it is easy to find eraser refills. The original as well as the refill erasers are white and leave no smears on your paper.

I have been looking for a mechanical pencil that does not pose a danger to the bottom of shirtpockets by retracting fully to leave a round end. I finally found it, and in a 0.5 mm version!

Everything was fine until the lead ran out. I could not insert a new lead, and there is nothing to describe how to do it. If I try to insert a new lead, it simply breaks off. I have given up and will return it to the store.
