Pendaflex Folder Frames

About Me Quality Oriented
Comments about Esselte Pendaflex Folder Frames; 4 Per Box:
They were easy to assemble. However, the bar assembly is just not right. I wish the bars were all one long piece with the same capability to shorten them. the adjustable piece in the middle just doesn't open flat enough. It works but it would be better without the adjustable piece.

I had my husband put it together for me. The metal bars needed to be cut to fit in the file cabinet we have. Not the easiest project, but he got it done.

Many tools necessary to assemble
By Dscottrose

I bought this product because Pendeflex has a good reputation for making quality products. I spent two hours trying to cut the steel bars. I work in an auto repair shop, and I could not cut through the steel with every professional tool I tried. After much frustration and lots of sweat, I managed to bend the pieces off but now the bars are not level, do not fit in the the slots, and keeps falling apart. Do not purchase.

Good option
By Shafdawg

Critiques of these are accurate, and exactly why I decided to buy this. The negative reviews said that it was hard to cut off the frame rails if you need to shorten them. I thought, "Well, then I know they are thick and they won't be breaking." And the whole thing looks more sturdy than other products. So I bought these. If you can spend twenty minutes and some elbow grease, you can get these to work fine, and they will be more durable than most other options. The instructions say to bend with pliers at the notches and it will break off. True, but not true. I needed TWO pairs of pliers, a lot of umph, and a hammer afterward to flatten the ends back out. But that's okay with me, if the product will be strong and last. I also found a shortcut: instead of bending them off, I tried some medium-grade tin snips and I cut them off. That was hard, especially by the eighth rail; heavier duty snips would work better, or someone with strong hands. But bending works, too, just be ready to work a bit.
Durable product but...

You'll need serious tools and muscles to cut the frames into right length. But, this is the best we can find in the market...

Would not recommend!

Steel side bars will not stay in place, they always want to fold up. I would not recommend these to anyone - not user friendly at all!
Difficult sliding files

Assembly - rails do not break-off easily for sizing. Also, the files get caught on the hinged rails.

Great!
By Talia
from Richmond, VA
I was surprised to see how easy it was to put it together and it only took about 2 min. NO TOOLS.That is great. Saving time is a must in our business. It might not be attractive, but who cares,...it's inside of a filing cabinet.Overall, great for the money!
