          When it comes to extra fine point felt tip pens, absolutely no other compares to this Pilot. I am very particular about the pens I use because I am a perfectionist when it comes to penmanship. This has been my pen of choice for 25 years. When I could no longer find them at the usual retail stores, I feared that they had been discontinued altogether. Then one evening, I spied a celebrated author using a Pilot Razor Point at a book signing and subsequently learned that Staples sold them. I will forever be grateful to her for reuniting me with my favorite writing instrument. (I use the red ones for annotating books and articles.)

          Another version of the old Bic "Flair" pens I grew up with. Like any felt-tip pen, the ink will soak through if in contact with paper too long.

                      The extra-fine tip is supported by a metal sleeve, but it is still not rugged enough for routine use. The tip has a tendency to slide into the sleeve, leaving so little felt exposed that the metal sleeve starts to scratch on the paper. This failure mode happens well before the pen runs out of ink and before the tip wears normally. Over half of mine failed in this fashion.

                        We use it at an architecture firm to review documents and add notes. It has a very fine tip so small print can still be read easily. It does not bleed through. When the pen gets old, the tip gets worn down and it should be tossed.

                            switched from technical pens (i.e.rapidograph) to these pens for notes and preliminary drawings of concepts. this porous point pen delivers ink to paper with the lightest touch. consistently fine line, with minimal halo on almost all paper types. have tried many, many types and brands in almost 20 years. have found nothing nearly as good for my use. long lasting ink too.
