If your phone doesn't have a "quick release" button for hanging up silently, the "lifter" slams the phone down, even with it set NOT to do this.

Overall it works great. On occassion when you press the headset to pick up it is delayed. We had the headsets for 2 yrs before getting the lifter. I STRONGLY recommend getting both together. I am in the habit of switching my headset off to get the dial-tone out of my ear when I place the call on hold and now I hang up on customers when I turn off my headset. Big adjustment!

I am glad the other two folks liked this item. It did NOT work for me and the instructions were poor. I ended up tossing it out. I was very frustrated by it.
