OMG, I saw this on TV over a year ago, thought it was a gimmick... So recently started my business and purchased the portable scanner... The only problem is : it is so addictive you will run out of things to scan...lol... I love this thing the IRS accepts receipts from this so you can finally throw those old ones away.. Really eliminates paper clutter & keeps your drawers clean for more important items... I can't say enough about this, easy set-up & I highly recommend it... PROMISE you won't be disappointed!!!!!!

I had the 4.XXX version of Neat Works and decided to finally up grade. The install was a bit tricky so I called the help desk which was very helpful. Then I tried to convert the old backup file which is 500mb to the new system and it did not work. I tried and the help desk tried and no can do. After 3 hours on the phone and 5 on my own, I had to take a temporary break. It still does not work but will contact them again to see if there is something else that can be done.

I have been wanting to buy this for my income tax business. I copy so many of my clients receipts and back up documents to substanciate tax returns. I literally have piles of copies of paper which I have to retain. This was so easy to use. I plugged it in made my folders and started scanning. I can now give my customers their receipts back. It is also recognized by IRS as a legal receipt! Once I started using for my business, I started scanning personal receipts to track my spending. I then decided to copy important documents such as birth certificates, insurance policies, and medical policies. I love it!

I ordered this item to keep track of my purchases to see exactly what I was spending. The software makes it very easy. I scanned two months of receipts in about 20 minutes. I ran my reports easily and was able to see exactly where the money was going. It calculates totals and keeps track of the tax you are paying separately. You can generate spending and expense reports very easily. the scan quality is ok and it is easy to trim the scans down if you need that function. Overall I am glad I finally purchased this great business tool.

I have the portable unit and love it, but sometime have trouble aligning the sheets into it straight. The desktop unit probably helps to solve that problem. The Neat Scanner allows me to eleminate all those stacks of paper receipts and other documents. Makes life more organized.

Nice size and fairly quick but often wouldn't pull the paper through without a little nudge. The paper often didn't get pulled through evenly giving me an unusable twisted like scan and a krinkle down he side making it difficult to rescan. Definitely for attended and careful use. In my case I have a lot of receipts to scan so I returned this for the unit with the Auto Doc Feeder. Much better! The ADF scans both sides very quick! Down side to the entire system is the file size of the NeatWorks export. I have a feeling by years end it's going to be unmanageable. This scanner is worth using for Mobil record keeping, not desktop everyday quick use.

Could not use unit, since software would never act up properly, and I do a lot of software. Waited over 24 hours for company response. Did not recognize that I could not activate software, still kept referring to items that I could only get if software was activated. I have never had such a terrible response regarding any hardware or software I have ever purchased. I have attempted to return the unit and hasn't been picked up in 1 1/2 weeks.

As a church treasurer I handle a ton of receipts every month. This scanner has helped me organize, store and backup all of those important papers, documents and receipts. I love that it gives different types of finance reports and makes my job oh so much easier! The Neat Scanner has many features such as importing from Quickbooks (and other accounting programs, exporting to those same programs, color/B&W scans, and the ability to sync between my computer and another for a very reasonable fee. It was easy to use, easy to learn, and worth every dollar! This was the best office supply purchase I have made all year! (Noticed someone had trouble installing on Windows 7. I use Windows 7 on both computers this scanner is used on and have had ZERO problems.)
