This machine is useful if you have a lot of mail. It can easily cut through cardboard and paper envelopes. It is ruggedly built and will withstand a lot of abuse.

The opener opened only one envelop and the cutter stopped cutting the envelope. This product is a waste of money. Don't buy it!

I wish I had read the reviews before buying this opener. I am returning it. I have had Panasonic openers, and thought that I would give this a try, [...]. My mistake. It just does not consistently open envelopes. I think Staple's buyers should take a look at it carefully. Martin Yale may have larger well working openers, but this small one is very bad. bill1135

The product worked OK for a few months, but doesn't open letter-sized envelopes correctly all the time. We have had it about a year and it doesn't open the envelope at all now. It seems like the blade is dull, but I don't think it can be replaced.

This product was brand new, out of the box and didn't work, at all! It barely opens the envelope, which makes it useless! It also only opns large size letter envelopes, not smaller stationary size envelopes. YUCK!!
