I really like these pens but the image for this pen refill is not what you get. I realize the description says needle point, but I ordered these refills thinking they were the standard cone shaped ones in the picture.

I am so glad I discovered the Pentel Ener-Gel pens. The pens are comfortable to hold, and they write so smoothly and cleanly. It is great that they are refillable, too--what a money-saver. I especially love the blue ink!

I use this ink for everything I do at work. I use blue to help me distinguish between originals and copies. The ink color is bold, goes on smoothly without bleeding, and the tip is robust enough to survive me pressing down through 3-5 NCR sheets all day long 5 days/week.
With that said, I am very unhappy with how narrow the tip is. The original ink cartridge that came with the pen had a nice, wide tip (0.7mm). The replacement cartridges I bought are supposed to be 0.7mm, but the tip is way narrower. I realize that the product name says needle tip. I was expecting the tip to be the same as the original, especially because they are both 0.7mm.
The thickness of the writing is also thinner than with the original ink cartridge.
If they are both supposed to be 0.7mm, than they should write the same, right?

Writes smoothly and no smearing. Don't pay attention to the picture if it has not been updated yet... The description says "needle tip" and that is what I wanted yet the picture shows a fine tip. If you go to the Fine tip product description it shows a needle tip! They both write good. I just prefer the needle tip. Love all the colors. Awesome pen/ink.

These are fantastic. I was worried that "needle tip" meant a tiny tip that would tear the paper I was writing on like other needle tip pens often do. I was forced to order these when Quill stopped carrying the .7mm regular refill. However, I was SO HAPPY with this size when I tried it! It is a smaller line when writing, glides smoothly, dries faster, and is just a fabulous product. Thanks Quill!

Pentel products are great and this one is the best. It makes me happy to have an option to refill and reduce what goes to the landfill.
