it was OUT of ink in less than a week!! brother would not send a new one after the lady from staples explained what happen. terrible customer service so i returned it the next day to get a HP.
before this i was a brother fan. NO LONGER

Easy to use software for scanning into a pdf or ocr, allows you multiple settings that are all menu driven. I have used some hp software in the past that was just a nightmare in comparrison. Brother will be my choice for my home office products from now on.

This is our second Brother after 15 years with HP printers and was purchased to take some of the load off of the color machine. The price was perfect for the quality and features. It is used almost exclusively for printing invoices, typically less than 50 a day. Although was purchased as a refurbished unit other than the label on the box it is identical to a new printer. Warm up and print time is very good. The software for scanning is awesome. Hit scan, select the PC from the menu that you would like the scan sent to and boom, it opens in folder on that system. Although not silent the noise when printing large documents is not any worse than other devices in our office such as the A/C or Dymo label printer. The one and only complaint is the display is difficult to read. It is small, is not back lit and the angle cannot be adjusted like the our other color printer-only model. After market toner cartridges are dirt cheap and OEM's are about average. If you don't need duplex or color you won't regret picking this one up.

This came out of the box looking like a brand new machine. The set up was easy and the print quality is excellent. I can't believe that someone would opt to purchase new when the refurbished is as good as new. Comes with a great warranty too and about a $100.00 savings. I purchased the laser over the inkjet also because of the savings. Even though I use this machine as personal / home office and maybe not as much as a larger office would the savings is still substantial. I would definitely recommend this refurbished machine to anyone.
