This is a refurbished printer but looks and functions as new. Every described function works fine. I like the wireless connection, the double sided printing/coping, the scanning to a specific folder or scan to email the best. The only thing I am not 100% satisfied is the viewing angle of the LCD. It is not easy to read the LCD when viewing from certain angle, even if I set the contrast to the maximum. But for the money I paid, I can live with this. I believe it is worth every penny I paid and recommend to anyone who need a laser MFC.

This is a compact yet great MFC printer with many useful functions. I connected it to my home network with wireless which is very easy to set up. The entire setting up process took me about 20 minutes including reading the "Quick Start Guide". So far I have tried printing, copying, scanning and all work beautifully as described. True it is refurbished but it looks like new with not dent, scratches, and so on. After the instant discount and rebate, it is very cheap, a great value to me. I have not tested the fax function since my phone line does not support fax. I could not comment on the reliability of it since I only had it for a few days.

The only downside I noticed so far is the LCD screen.
It can only be read within a small viewing angle, no matter how much contrast I adjust it to. But for the money I paid, I can live with it.

The setup was relatively easy. I am concerned with the power supply. When you send a print job to it, the lights dim, the surge protector clicks and the fan seems to run for a long time after the print job completes. We do like that it works wirelessly with our laptops and the iPad iBrother app. Print quality is excellent. This is a nice looking printer that takes up about half the space of the older Canon that it replaced. Really the only reason I marked it down two stars was the power issue. I would recommend with reservations. Get an extended warranty if offered.

When we purchased this device, we were primarily looking for a scanner/fax machine to service a small suite of office computers. We placed a priority on reliability, electronic faxing (directly to or from PDF files), and duplex printing with cheap toner. Without question this Brother device meets those requirements. The ability to scan directly to a shared folder on the network is great, but surprisingly the automatic document feeder for scanning has made the largest impact on productivity.

This is my first AIO printer. I am very satisfied with its result. If you are concerned about the cost of toner cartridge you can extend it many ways. You will find it in the internet. One good thing is it does not have a chip on the cartidge.
