This was a replacement for a previous Brother Laser all-in-one that succumbed to Hurricane Sandy and the havoc she wreaked upon the power grid.
I was so pleased with the first one that I wouldn't have considered another brand, and I was NOT dissapointed.
Installation was a breeze, as was set-up, and print quality and speed are excellent..

After doing MUCH research on efficient and cost effective printers we settled on this one and we couldn't be happier. The print quality is great, it's very easy to set up and use, the response time on our network is very fast, and it's VERY cost effective. Definately a great buy!

Bought this as a replacement for a Brother 8450DN which got fried in a lightening storm. Can't speak to it's reliabilty (I was upset that the 8450 was literally un-repairable after a power surge), but this refurbished 8690 is working very well so far. Easy set-up. Plus the Brother iPad app that enables you to print from your iPad works with this printer -- all you need to do on the iPad is select "Copy" for the document or webpage you want to print, open the Brother print app and the document appears on screen ready to print. Prints fast too.
