Comments about BIC® Grip Roller Pen:

This year our club decided to buy these Bic Grip Roller Pens with black ink. Last year our club bought the Bic Widebody Grip pens. Those Bic Widebody Grip Pens from last year were well-liked, but some thought they were too big to grip easily for a long period of time. Plus, last year all Bic pens were made in Mexico (molded into the plastic was a big "Mexico") which turned folks off. We considered the gel-ink Bic pens, but they're twice the price of these rollerball-style pens.

This year we got forest green bodies with gray imprinting. The imprinting is much too difficult to see. Unfortunately, the on-screen image of the gray is much lighter than the actual imprinting. Plus the imprinting is quite small (we got two lines using the University Bold Condensed font). I guess they didn't make the imprinting any bigger even though we only got two lines (4-5 lines are allowed, I think). Go with a bigger font if you can.

Folks like getting these rollerball pens for free (but then, anything free...). But they all ask if the caps need to stay on. Yes, they do, per Quill (they asked Bic for us). Many caps are hard to remove, especially for older folks are those with hand arthritis.

These are basically a magic marker with a rollerball delivery system. If the cap is left off the ink starts drying out, and the ink supply is limited. If you want long-life ink supplies go with a standard Bic ballpoint pen. Bic ballpoint pens are well liked, too, and provide quality ink flow at a great price.

Bic Grip Roller Pen PLUSES: Made in USA ("USA" is molded into the plastic on top); well-liked by people getting them; good bang-for-a-buck; fast turnaround (now made in Clearwater, FL?); forest green body color well liked; rollerball works with multi-part forms; permanent ink but it washes off your hands fairly easily, rubbery grip feels good in your hand while writing but pen body isn't too thick.

Bic Grip Roller Pen MINUSES: small imprinting; cap must be on to prevent ink drying out; they skip for a while when cap left off for a short period of time; relatively short ink life; some caps very hard to take on & off.
