Encourage recycling....

As our city-issued recycle cart is down a flight of stairs and toward front of garage, a transition recycling basket to put just outside our kitchen door was needed to maximize recycling and minimize the "kitchen garbage can is more convenient" arguments from the kids. Since we recycle a LOT, our "for recycling" kitchen-sized garbage can was too small and needed to be emptied multiple times per day to avoid overflow. This recycling basket needs to be emptied only once per day. The only thing that I would wish for is to be able to purchase a plastic bag-type liners to catch any drips from food and beverage cans. If they were available, I would toss the liner every four weeks or so and avoid a stinky scrubbing job from drips from food or beverage cans. Because there is no liner bag on the market (to my knowledge), the blue recycling basket is used for paper/cardboard/other dry recyclables, and we are using the kitchen-sized garbage can, lined with a plastic bag, for the wet stuff.
Great container, SIMPLE SORTING!

About Me Quality Oriented
I bought two of these as we are avid newspaper readers reading newspapers on line as well as on newsprint. Our town requires strict sorting so we finally broke down and bought some great containers from Quill so that we can sort day -by-day instead of trying to sort on garbage pick up day when we might not have the motivation. The container moves easily from the foyer of the house to the garage to the curb. You best decide what's best for your home or office layout to maximize recycling given the parameters of your recycler and what material you use the most of in your home or office. Then design your own collection and transport processes to minimize the chore!
sturdy, practical size

Very sturdy, not scratched by jagged cans. Does not leak liquids. Looks professional. Good capacity. When heavy the grips can dig into the fingers unpleasantly.
