This box is a simple aluminum case with a weak closure. It's thin and won't really allow pressure on the writing surface without flexing. Further, for it to be functional in the field (where one would be concerned about carrying forms and such), it ought to be even a little weatherproof. There's no gasket around the lid. The box and lid are simply bent aluminum sheeting, whose corners don't join tightly enough to keep out even a light drizzle or mist. In general, this is a flimsy piece of junk.

Very durable. The clip is a bit big (not a streamlined design). The inside has a space for pencils and earasers. The paper holder can carry about 200 papers. Good space to fit a calculator or something. It gets cold to hold if you are outside since it is metal.

Overall 1 of the better clipboards I have found, but the latch that holds it shut is rather flimsy, could be more secure.

Not made well,the aluminum is very thin, not as durable as I've had in the past,dissappointed by the cost for such a flimsy product! Cant buy anything these days n have it stand up to the rugged use of it when we all need better quality made in the usa products...too expensive for the cheaply made file folder! Not Happy with it at all!!

I ordered one & it was broken/bent. Quill gave us credit & it was sent back. Ordered another one & it was in one piece. I would not order another one, but try to find one of sturdier construction. It's not like the "old metal ones."

Very sturdy although it did not survive sliding off the roof of a van into moving traffic.

As a retired police officer who had a similar carrier during his career I find this unit serves me very well in my new career as a contractor. Before purchasing this unit my proposal forms would often get tore up, spilled on or loss. Now they are held safely inside the unit until needed and while the job is being performed. In addition since most proposals are made on the protential job site I always have a proper surface to write on that assures all three copies of my preprinted proposal forms are clearly legible.
