We bought the Scotch® C60 Two-Tone Desktop Tape Dispenser (in black) by 3M to help speed up the giftwrap station we were setting up this past Christmas. It worked out great. It even got my husband involved this year. He really wanted to do the giftwrap now that he could keep one hand free to hold the paper while getting the tape in place. It turned out to be real gift for me as I got to do what I enjoy - decorating the packages and we both enjoyed spending that time together. Who would have thought such a simple little invention could bring a family closer together.

The unit could be made heavier, which would make pulling the tape not move the unit so much (where it would stay put). But a heavier unit probably would mean a larger one, which would be a trade off in advantages/disadvantages. I especially like the way it is easier to reload with tape.

It is so difficult to rip the tape off, You have to hold the unit down with one hand and with the other hand rip the tape in a very downward position while going back & forth on the units teeth to rip off. I've cut myself a few times (I've learned how not to)trying to rip the tape off, I seriously struggle. It's not a pull and rip at all. I know I should have returned but I lost receipt, I've never used a difficult tape dispenser, so naturally I threw it away. I should have tried as I've always have very good experiences there and the unit could have been defective, don't know? I do like Staples though, as they carry many items I can't find elsewhere here in DuBois.
