Great for keeping non-profit groups independent. I do website, and membership, accounting, and other data support for several groups. One Drive for each group keeps all their information separate, secure, and I can pass it on to the next person when I no longer have that specific job in the organization, such as membership chair, or Treasurer. Load the operating programs on the Drive like Quicken or Publisher and everything is there for the next person to use. Just plug and go. We have two that are synced yearly, to create a basic backup so there is always nothing more than a one year delay if one crashes. No cloud necessary.

Just give the drive to the incoming and show them the files, and the organization carries on without a hitch. Better than the old paper spread sheets and hard copy filing.

I have two of these USB 1TB drives, both with Linux ext2 file systems and a label. I run backup to them with rsync, which works very well.

I have bought three portable Seagates, one for each computer in the family. I use them for backup and storage of photos. They work great, are easy to store or carry along with a laptop. They are quiet and reliable. My husband had another brand and it just failed one day. So far, so good. I have never had an issue with the Seagates. I would definitely buy this brand again. Also, they are very reasonably priced.

This product came to my interest because of it's size in memory and me being a disc jockey well what can I say. I have currently or roughly close to three quarters of music and so it's almost filled. I was also shopping for this type of external mainly cause of the size of it, very small that you can take it anywhere within your pocket or just toss it in your laptop bag. it really was and has been the best investment I have made thus far since djing digitally for about 3 years now. Loaded all my music in about 12 hrs. bam boom and we are live in the mix.
Thanks Seagate for making an awesome external.
