This heater replaced an old "glowing wire with a fan" type heater, which always gave me the fear things would catch on fire. I do not have any fear with this one. On the "Eco" settings it still warms up quickly and I do not have to be afraid it will trip the circuit breaker. Even with the wheels it is low enough to put it under the desk, but it is nice looking and can also be out in the open in the reception area. It is light enough to quickly move around, but those wheels do not feel too sturdy, so instead of wheeling, I just pick it up and move it.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    I ordered this in New England in June, so it will be months before this heater gets a real workout, but space heaters with fans have failed me in the past. Today is chilly, and the heater within minutes gave me warmth.
    In my experience, with fan heaters, low settings do not boost the temperature even in small spaces at all, and on high settings, they trigger surge-protecting power bars to switch everything off before anything is heated. Besides, in the winter anyone looking to humidify, for the sake of the eyes, the nose, the throat, may have found fan heaters' blowing of hot air counterproductive. This is better.
    This micathermic Soleus heater heats both from the back, the front, and the top, so it is a lot less directional than fan-type heaters. The temperature setting gauge does not specify temperatures, just high to low. The "feet" that you have to put on don't seem exactly child proof. But at this point I think this will be a reliable way to heat specific areas.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
