I have tried many DVDs for recording and have found that the Sony+RW work the best for me. I have very inexpensive Sony recorders (that aren't available anymore) and nonetheless get quite clear recordings. Other DVDs I have tried have not been as effective.

Used to record TV programs which run concurrently with others that I watch.

Better quality picture than vhs tapes

Some of current dvd's have recorded 2 or 3 programs and not a 4th

I record Video on a Camcorder and pass through to Sony DVDirect at horse shows. I preformat DVD to save time, and found that if it fails to format the first time, the second attempt is successful. Unfortuately, this make the disc unstable, after the first recording it will sometimes reformat the disc wiping out the media. If it fails to format the first time, I now trash the DVD.

I was disappointed in the fact that only 10 of the 25 Sony DVD's were usable. I had to return 15 because they were defective. This same thing occured with the "cd-r 52x" HP case I purchased. I was unable to use 20 of the 50 in that case.

Works as advertised on compatible burners. If you have an older burner, make sure that the firmware supports this particular speed and disk info code.
