I love this desk-with one modification

About Me Budget Shopper
I owned a desk of this design a few years ago and wished I could find one now that I am recording music again. The shelves are almost perfect for placement of near-field monitor speakers (see below). Quill's price was the lowest (it wasn't even close!) with free shipping. It was damaged in transit and Sauder sent replacement parts immediately. People comment on how good it looks and it is truly well-designed except for a couple of things that you just need to be aware of. My old one was damaged when I put too much weight on the top shelf and then my ten lb cat hopped on it -- it is rated for only 15 lbs. Then I stupidly stepped on the base in the back to access a shelf and that broke. I know better now and placed a 5" section of a 2x4 under each shelf and it holds my monitor speakers fine (about 22 lbs each). The keyboard shelf is a little wiggly, but it is almost the full width of the desk and really keeps the main surface uncluttered. A small music keyboard and audio mixer slide out of the way under the main shelf that holds my iMac. The desk is easy to move when I need access to the back cable connections (just because a desk has wheels doesn't make it movable). So I recommend it with just a caution to pay attention to the weight limits.

About Me Midrange Shopper
I am so pleased with my desk - it was better than I expected. I'm able to have my desk top, laptop, light, files, printer on the desk and still have desk space to write. I truly got more than I bargained for - I am truly happy with this purchase.

This desk is larger than it appears, but that's a good thing! It holds everything and I especially love the wheels b/c it makes moving it so easy. The wood is beautiful and extremely well made. [...]

I would buy this again

Has great surface area for working on computer with alot of papers. Does not have adjustable height. The keyboard trays need to be adjustable or the legs need to be able to move up or down. It is 1 1/2 inches lower than the last one I had.
