Comments about Supersonic SC709 Portable Mp3/Cd Player w/ Cassette Recorder & AM/FM radio, USB Input:

I just wrote 800 letter very negative review and the page closed without taking review before I finished. This review written on word processor and copied in.

The portable cd player is Very bad! It is toooo poorly made for younger users. I don't think it will take much abuse. The cd lid manually opens just enough to put cd in. you have to manually push in center cd to get it out, and just barely have room. I am probably too familiar with computer cds that you just put in drawer. I do not have large hands, but I found it awkward.

The radio controls have knobs but you turn just 1/8 inch to change volume or channels. They don't rotate - they click. USB card actually worked OK. The format has to be mp3, and it scans (very slowly).

I read a previous review which said the power cord did not stay in very well. The one that came with it won't stay in AT ALL. I had another one with similar ends and it barely stays in. I hold the plug in just right, put the player down to hold cord, then wiggle cord until power light stays on. Then you have to press the buttons very gently so it doesn't move cord. The remote works ok, but buttons are just thin membrane covered pressure swithes that I do not think will last.

The instruction manual was translated by someone that does not know English very well. This is a direct quote "When the unit has not the disc, and plug a usb card in the unit. The unit will automatically play the usb card. The unit don't support the HDD all and the portion usb with mp3 player."

Comments about Supersonic SC709 Portable Mp3/Cd Player w/ Cassette Recorder & AM/FM radio, USB Input:

Connecting Jack does not fit snugly so that Power imput is unreliable. We had to stuff the Jack receptacle with thick paper to get power. With Power, it worked okay. Tried also the correct batteries, but these proved very, very difficult to insert and so were not helpful at all. Hopefully we can get some use from it, but the beginning has been extremely frustrating.
