Excellent for Our Needs
We have bought this stapler multiple times and will continue to do so. They are very high volume use and so long as you aren't being reckless with it; it performs well. Even if it jams up we've been able to clear it and it just keeps working. Over years worth of use, some have been replaced, but with our volume that is to be expected.
I use this stapler on a daily basis. This works well when new but now I have to push the trigger mechanism forward each time to trigger the stapler. I have used a hand operated stapler that can staple up to 40 sheets that provided better reliability. The staple position feature is this staplers best feature as it positions the staples at the same point each time. The staple cartridge prevents you from having to reload as often as a hand stapler. For the money I would stick to the hand stapler.
I have purchased this product in the past with mild success. The old one gave up the ghost after lasting about 3 years. This one did not last more than 4 months. It jambs and is very difficult to remove. But the switch to activate the stapler is the problem with this new one. The push bump was far to low and was often missed causing the paper to go up inside the machine and not activate the stapler. The Switch is very weak and is now broke. It will not activate and is now a brick. Also, if someone pushes the button to hard, the switch catches on the springs that are behind it. It doesn't happen often but when it does, it requires unstinting. It is a nice idea but this machine needs a manual push button that is more robust.
I just purchased my third model 270 stapler. I have been well pleased with their performance. Very seldom do they miss stapling, usually that is caused by moving the paper. My second still works but the anvil is worn out. I plan to return it for repairs. Love these staplers. During tax season they get a real workout.
