I have the smaller version of this stapler that has had heavy use for the last 5 years so I thought I would buy the big one just like it and save time with the full strip capacity. What a mistake, Swingline must not have the trusted products that they used to - This new stapler was only good for 3 days and it has jammed up so bad that I had one of the guys try and open it for me and when he did it broke the plastic tabs at the top and is totaly useless. I was only stapling a 7-10 page thickness. I still can't get it open to fix the jam and now the top rubber piece just flaps around. What a disappointment for a brand I used to love so much.

I had trouble with cheap staplers, not stapling and jamming, went up in price and this one is working out well, love the "standing up" feature.

We did not over use this stapler.
We bought one a year ago & to lasted for a bout 8 months & then jammed all the time. I figured that maybe someone had dropped it since 3 people use it, so I bought a second one. This one jammed almost right out of the box.
I bought a SWINGLINE - paid a bit more , put it is a much better product.

I hate bad reviews, but:

I inherited a cheap little plastic stapler from the previous bookkeeper here at the law firm, and it lasted for 6 years, rarely jamming. It finally just flew to pieces one day (yes, literally).

I did lots of research before replacing the old stapler, and figured this new stapler would be great, assuming the low ratings were due to complainers. I apologize to those folks!

I am a strong person with good-sized hands, yet this stapler actually made the bones in my hand hurt when stapling. A lesser squeeze meant the staples wouldn't even go through 2 sheets of paper. It jammed often, though I convinced myself the jamming would magically stop "after this time". Ha, didn't happen.

Several months later, I am now sitting here with a stapler so hopelessly jammed that the staple and the stapler metal look completely fused together.

Back to square one.
