While the setup was super easy, you really have to know how to format your drive in order to use this machine. Although it was intended to be MAC and PC compatible, it is much more MAC friendly than anything else. I tried several settings and reformat trials, but still, was only recognized on the PC as a device not a USB storage. It is, however, super responsive for all types of files. I transfered audio, image, psd, doc, and video files from six machines onto this drive and I stll have plenty of room to go. Movies load super quick too!

I love this 3tb external hard drive! I have three of these and will purchase more! I use mine to store personal videos and photos, photos for my business and church videos. It is so much cheaper to store files on the 3tb hard drive than it is to try and burn everything to cd's or dvd's! It is also easier to keep up with the location of the files and is much easier to access them. You don't have to worry about losing or breaking a cd, dvd, or flash drive. And try and store 3tb worth of cd's! You will see how much since it makes to use the 3TB as it takes up so much less space. I highly recommend this product for personal and business use.

I own 2 of these and use them to back up my daily work for a busy graphic design studio. Software makes it easy to perform regular scheduled backups so I feel confident that my local backup storage is ready and updated consistently in case of unfortunate events. Plenty of space for large files and the USB3 transfer rate is extremely nice and fast. Price-wise this unit is great for any level user looking for backup and storage solutions. I may have to pick up a couple for the homestead as well.

Plenty of storage room at a great price. Compatible with all backup programs I have. Very responsive. Sits quietly to the right of my tower. Very quiet operation. Just about every day I find more uses for it. This drive replaces several old, expensive drives with less space. Just one external drive is all I need now. I can keep portable utilites on this drive, and transfer them to thumb drive for use when troubleshooting machines for friends and neighbors. And if it is anything major, like backing up their files for transfer to a new machine, then it is easy to place in a tote bag and take it with me.
I have a large storage box with several older drives in it that I am gradually emptying out on to this big one. I very definitely urge serious computer users to get one.

This is my fourth of this model, and that should already say enough. One is backing up three computers centrally several times per day, the others are being used for less frequent large file backups. So far zero problems at all. Just make sure to never bump/drop the drive when running, could easily be the end of it. Use it like bookends and you'll be fine.
