Useless device - do not buy

Comments about Western Digital Hard Drives; My Book Live, Personal Cloud Storage,1TB:
2mb per second write time. Wasted hours reinstalling software at the suggestion of their techs. Wasted even more time reinstalling and reconfiguring software and network. If you like beating your head against the wall and wasting time - buy this product!

Even though WD claims it's "Smartware" is compatible with XP, XP comes back and says that it is not. (It does not mention XP Pro, which I am running. I have updated the software and drivers to no avail and am returning the unit.

Great drive that I bought on Black Friday.Very easy to setup and access.Only wish it had a USB connection. Other than that, so far, so good. Would have given it five stars with a USB connection

Bought to use at home to share photos and info with the family. Being able to allow remote users to access is a great deal and yet your data is secure.
Easy Access

I wanted an external hard drive that I could set up with my network and use from any of the computers. I like that not only can I access my files anywhere in the house via my network, I can access my files from the internet where ever I may be. I am able to access my entertainment files as well. I was able to connect my daughter who is an hour away to this drive, and she is able to upload pictures for me anytime.
