My wife and I both bought these for our high school classrooms. Both stopped working within a week of each other after only 6 months of use.

Too much money for something not made to last.

I purchase this pencil sharpener for my daughter first grade class and teacher. My daughter teacher has gone through two electric sharpers this year and from what I heard back are great reviews. The teacher loves it and it's still in one piece and that's saying a lot for six year old's.

A student knocked it to the floor. It worked like a charm immediately. I like the large shavings holder. It is also very quiet compared to the last two I have had. It is very nice to be able to sharpen pencils of various sizes.

This sharpener is really good, however, you need to peel the cover off of the fancy pencils (like birthday pencils and such). As long as you take care of this, it will last a long time.
