An engineer intern in nanotechnology and renewable energy systems at American Energy Technologies Company in Arlington Heights, Illinois, where she tests graphite for battery applications. She is passionate about the concept of sustainability, and exploring ways in which people can lessen their impact on the planet. She believes that such an approach allows for a life that is as healthy as possible. A large part of living sustainably involves a consideration of the amount and type of energy we use, and also of how we dispose of our waste. Her goal is to research and discover ways in which people can use resources more efficiently.
In addition to her job, Ruxandra is working on completing her Earth and Environmental Sciences degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is also pursuing a career in the medical field.
