Reinvent K-Cups with these 5 delicious winter drinks

Winter is officially here and some of us are trying to stay as warm as possible. Though if you ask us, some months the AC in the office makes us feel like it’s winter all year round. Wearing a scarf or a cozy sweater definitely helps but a warm and delicious cup of something tasty really hits the spot.

A regular cup of coffee doesn’t always do the trick, so here are five yummy drink mixes you can whip up using office K-Cups. The best part? These recipes are ridiculously easy to make regardless of your coffee skill level.

  1. Pumpkin-Spiced Mocha

Even if you’re not a fan of a seasonal pumpkin pie, you can still try and love the way this tastes. After all, everything tastes better when chocolate is involved and pumpkin-spiced coffee is no exception.

Using half/half instead of a super sweet creamer makes sure the pumpkin isn’t lost and neither is the hint of chocolate you add with chocolate chips. If you’ve never mixed pumpkin and chocolate together, you’re definitely missing out!

    What you need:

    • Green mountain pumpkin spiced K-Cup
    • Chocolate chips
    • Half/half
    • Sweetener (optional)
    • Quick tip: Toss in the chocolate chips right after your k cup is ready so that the chocolate melts right away.
  2. Candy Cane Coffee

    K-Cup coffee with candy cane

Grab those leftover candy canes for a flavorful K-Cup coffee with a minty twist. But be warned: this particular drink should be avoided if you don’t love anything with a mint flavor.

Depending on your love for sweets, you may want to use a dark roast K-Cup to balance out the flavors. A light or medium roast works great but a darker roast is suggested for the those without a sweet tooth. Whatever way you decide to go with this, it’s like drinking a cup of holiday cheer.

    What you need:

    • Classic Coffee Roast K-Cup
    • Peppermint mocha creamer
    • Sweetener (optional)
    • Quick tip: Adjust the ratio of coffee to creamer depending on your mood for how sweet you like it. Leave a lot of room for cream if you really want a sweet and minty-tasting cup of coffee.
  3. Crazy Cocoa with a Kick

If there’s anything you crave when it’s cold outside, it’s definitely a hot chocolate. Sometimes, though, it’d be great to mix the cocoa and coffee together in a way where you barely taste the coffee anymore. If you’re looking for the sweetest thing to have in the morning, this is it.

    What you need:

    • Chocolate glazed donut K-Cup
    • Chocolate chips
    • Chocolate creamer
    • Quick tip: Toss in the chocolate chips right after your K-Cup is ready so that the chocolate melts right away. Add in the chocolate creamer after and mix things together.
  4. Coffee with “Friends”

    K-Cup coffee with mini marshmallows

Not actual coffee with your friends, but you might just consider marshmallows to be your new best friend after trying this. This is the easiest thing to make on the entire list because it requires just two things: your favorite coffee and a mini marshmallows.

It’s well worth it even though you’ll likely need to run to the store (unless you secretly store mini marshmallows in your desk… Kudos!).

    What you need:

    • Your favorite flavor K-Cup
    • Mini marshmallows
    • Quick tip: Add the marshmallows in before you pour your coffee.
  5. Vanilla Salted Caramel Coffee

Just reading the name of this drink makes you want to throw your basic coffee out the window. Switching out your typical roast for a vanilla biscotti K-Cup is just the start. Add in the salted caramel chocolate creamer and your taste buds will thank you. You may never go back to your regular coffee again.

Mix up your office refreshment routine

The best thing about all these recipes is that they’re extremely easy to make. Using a Keurig already takes the work out of your morning coffee, and incorporating these ingredients is just as easy. No need to work on your coffee barista skills: just mix a few things together and voila, tasty goodness.

You likely have your morning cup of coffee the same way every single day, all year long. Winter is a great time to mix things up, add in something new and drink something warm, sweet and different through the work day. And, if you’re feeling generous, you can always buy enough so that your office mates can try some too.
