Self-seal envelopes work

These envelopes use an adhesive gum or wax on both flaps that seal the sides together when firmly gripped. They save a step because users don’t have to remove a protective strip from the glue or apply water to activate a sticky adhesive. There are three main types of envelope flaps: wallet, square, and pointed. Most businesses use the wallet type for billing and other reports, and use the square for larger mailings, such as catalogs and oversized brochures. Some types of self-stick envelopes have one or two windows to display printed mailing and return addresses, which also helps customers identify the sender. The display windows make it easier to use computer printouts of invoices and other digital correspondence, and they reduce the need for mailing labels.
