As the AEPA (Association of Educational Purchasing Agencies) member for all Indiana school districts, Wilson Education Service Center was looking for more cost savings and faster shipping times than what their existing vendors could offer. Specifically, they needed a supplier who could better support their biweekly orders of custodial and office supplies.
Quill delivered.
We began with providing large volume quotes and price comparisons between other vendors. The savings started adding up. In fact, spending over five years for one group, Silver Creek School Corp, totaled up to nearly $1 million saved with Quill.
The speed of delivery made an impact on WESC and their customers as well.
“Being able to ship things immediately has been a great help,” stated Brent Minton, Director, WESC. “People are always pleased to get what they ordered so quickly.”
Building trust through service
However, the cost savings and fast shipping were only the beginning of this true partnership.
That’s because, as Quill Sales Representative Dan Taggart noted, WESC and Quill share a common value: focus on the customer.
“[Quill’s] customer service is amazing,” started Jennifer Voigner, Chief Business Officer, WESC, “Dan goes above and beyond to make sure our customers are very happy.”
It quickly became evident that Quill would support any need that came up for WESC and their schools. And this commitment was put to the test as the pandemic unfolded.
Guidance through ESSER funding
There were many grants created to provide relief from the economic impact of COVID-19. One such grant is the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund, otherwise known as ESSER.
Quill has worked with WESC through ESSER I, II, and now III to help the schools they support make the best use of this funding, studying up on the ins and outs of what items are eligible. These funds have covered a range of purchases, from large quantities of personal protective equipment (PPE) to help battle COVID-19 to a recent order of 120 Chromebooks totaling $57,000.
Putting our heads together on this has helped solidify Quill and WESC’s partnership even more.
Showing up together: ISBA
This past September, WESC and Quill shared a booth at the 74th Annual Indiana School Board Association Fall Conference. We were able to raise mutual awareness and meet with both existing contacts and make new connections.
It was an honor, and a true testament to the strength of our relationship, to co-host at this event. We look forward to more opportunities like it in the future.
