Comments about Balt® Seatflex® Managers Chair; With Arms and Headrest:

This chair has been perfect for me. The air flow is wonderful in the summer months and the seat is very comfortable for me, having broken my tailbone many years ago, it has been a struggle to find the right chair.I have had this model for 7 years now, it even traveled with me from a previous job and the only thing wrong with it is that the left arm is a little loose and the wear is begining to show on the bungies on the seat. Others at our office do not like it so either you love it or you hate it.

Comments about Balt® Seatflex® Managers Chair; With Arms and Headrest:

This chair is comfortable, while it last. Frame bent after only a couple of months, causing it to lean to one side. The bungee cords that make up the seating surface are fairly comfortable in thicker clothes but can become painful when wearing lighter clothes. Nice idea, but end product just doesn't hold up to normal use.

Comments about Balt® Seatflex® Managers Chair; With Arms and Headrest:

I use this chair to work on the computer and customers. I sometimes sit for long periods of time. This chair is great, it removes any stress points on my lower back and the chair forms to youre shape. The seat area hurts some where the screws hold the bungie cords in place and the seat could be bigger. The design works well for those who work and have a disability, but it can't keep your but warm. I use a throw on the seat to help with this. Overall this is a great chair.

Comments about Balt® Seatflex® Managers Chair; With Arms and Headrest:

We bought 2 last year because Staples stopped making another great chair. Since we sit for long periods of time, the "air flow" seats were perfect, especially during hot summers here in NY. We just bought 2 more and one employee has traded the other great chair we wanted initially, for one of these.

Ordered this chair 7/27/2007. On 12/1/2007 the chair broke. Something let go in the mechanism that allows the back of the chair to recline. The "Seat posture adjustment" lever no longer has any effect. Without seeing a working chair, cannot tell what exactly is wrong, by there is a heavy chromed bolt that is loose, and probably should not be.

Four months use is a not a good deal.

Comments about Balt® Seatflex® Managers Chair; With Arms and Headrest:

In construction this chair seems a notch about the usual inexpensive office chair. Free air circulation makes this chair much more comfortable on hot days.

Design-wise this chair is a near miss. Not by any means fancy, but generally well done - with one exception: There is not quite enough support on the back of the seat, and the metal frame there is too close. This might not be an issue for someone lighter than my 240lbs. Fairly small design changes could remove this problem.

Note also that the covering on the elastic is a bit rough. Does not bother me, but might be move of a problem for someone more thinly clad or more sensitive.

I cannot quite recommend this product as-is.

Comments about Balt® Seatflex® Managers Chair; With Arms and Headrest:

I was looking forward to getting this chair so much, but when it arrived I was ultimately disappointed. I even waited a few days to see if it would grow on me. But alas, my lower back started hurting, and I realized it was because I was arching my back just to feel comfortable in this chair. It would benefit from an adjustable lumbar support that you could move up or down, plus in or out (to give more or less lumbar support). In order for my lower back to feel comfortable long enough to use this chair for 1 hour straight, I had to sit way back in the seat, so far back that my butt was falling through the back of the seat where there is no elastic bands to support it (See photo). Only when I was back that far did I have sufficient lumbar support for my needs. I tried to adjust the position of the back of the chair, since it is very adjustable, but when I tilted it forward to give me the lumbar support I wanted, the back was leaning too far forward and I felt like I was being pushed out of my car. Also, the headrest is too low (see photo), it actually is more like a neck rest, but your head ends up starring at the ceiling (which may be fine if you are an executive who stares at the ceiling and day dreams, but I need to be looking straight ahead at my computer screens). A previous reviewer stated that the headrest was too high, but I find that hard to believe unless your are very short (I am 5'8"). I emailed the manufacturer Balt and they confirmed that the headrest is NOT adjustable. I would have preferred it to be 8 inches higher. If Balt would redesign this chair to have an adjustable lumbar support and adjustable headrest, It would be a great affordable competitor to the Aeron from Miller Herman.I'm very sad, because this chair had a very attractive design and it would have looked great in my office, but after trying it for a week, and having lower back pain, I decided to ask [...] to take it back, which they did very cheerfully. [...] I ordered a different model, the Global Airflow Leather Mesh-Back Chair, which received 8 great reviews from customers. So I look forward to that now.[...]

Only flaw is head rest too high. I solved it by taking out part of what held the head rest itself. Could it be made adjustable??
