We want more flex time: The work perk employees can’t get enough of

As the modern workforce continues to evolve, U.S. workers have made something very clear: They want more flex time. Research shows workers want to cut ties with their cubicle for 8 hours a day in favor of flexible hours, flexible work locations, and/or full- or part-time remote work in order to save time, reduce commute stress, and improve work-life balance. In fact Gallup’s 2017 State of the American Workplace report found that more than half of all respondents said they would change jobs to have flex time. Millennials are especially interested in more flexible work options. While it may seem like offering employees more flexible work arrangements—and typically fewer work hours per week—could backfire.
