The composition of magnetic dry-erase panels
Magnetic boards are dry-erase whiteboards with steel cores attached to sturdy, rigid backings of laminated wood or fiberboard. Some have corrosion-resistant zinc backings so you can use them outdoors. Surfaces include highly lacquered melamine that provides a nonporous platform that lets users remove markings with dry erasers or wipes. Sturdier nonporous options with ceramic or porcelain faces provide marking panels for more intensive applications like equation writing and reformulation. Both platforms are scratch resistant and don’t leave behind visible post-erase, ghosting marks after normal use.
The dimensions of magnetic boards
The array of applications for work, school, and home requires several dimensions appropriate for both small and large groups and for either vertical or horizontal use. Dry-erase magnetic boards may be as small as 1.5 x 2 feet, so people can transport them easily from one classroom or meeting room to another. Smaller ones with rust-resistant zinc backings are also functional outdoors, displayed on easels. Larger selections are available in dimensions ranging from 4 x 4 up to 4 x 8 feet, ideal for permanent wall mounting with adaptable vertical or horizontal hangers, or for semi permanent mounting with double-sided Velcro® strips.
Some fiberboard magnetic panels have attractive frames
Many permanently mounted boards have stylish frames to complement room decor.
