Double-window envelope uses

Two-window envelopes make it easy for payroll departments to send checks and invoices to employees or clients. Many window envelopes, such as JAM envelopes, have only one window for the recipient address whereas double-window options have a place for the sender's address, too. The windows have clear plastic so addresses cleanly show through. All workers have to do is place the invoices or checks inside with the front facing out, seal, and stamp. Companies can also use these types of business envelopes for letters or financial statements where users can include address information on printed pages inside to avoid having to label the envelopes.

Two-window envelope features

The features found on double-window envelopes can vary by manufacturer. Some affect use while others are personal preference. One feature is security tint on the inside of the envelopes to prevent prying eyes from seeing sensitive information within when held up to the light. Many are self-sealing choices for easy closure by peeling paper off a sticky area and then pressing it down to seal. Gummed adhesive is the most common type of closure that seals with just a little bit of moisture from the tongue, damp cloth, or envelope moistener. The type of flap on the envelopes also varies. Choose from square flaps for a professional look or V-shaped flaps for a more elegant flair. It's also possible to create custom print envelopes with windows that include a business logo on a corner or the back flap.

Double-window envelope brands

Choose from a few different brands that make two-window envelopes. These companies also make other business envelopes including insurance claim, data filing, medication, Tyvek®, and coin envelopes. Get everything the company needs from one brand such as:

  • Quality Park™
  • Medical Arts Press®
  • Delforms®

Two-window envelope sizes

The majority of two-window envelopes are #8 or #9 envelopes. A #8 is 3-5/8 x 8-5/8 inches for checks, while a #9 is 3-7/8 x 8-7/8 inches for invoices. The difference might seem small but these sizes are actually designed to hold checks and invoices perfectly.
