HP PageWide cartridges for advanced technology
HP's advanced-tech PageWide series consists of innovative, high-speed multifunction printers with fax, scan, copy, and print capabilities. They use a four-cartridge system of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black ink. HP 972 cartridges contain either 2,100 or 4,200 inkjet nozzles, depending on yield model, and they are part of a high-tech silicon-chip and nozzle-die configuration that can yield a print speed of up to 70 pages a minute. The 972 cartridges are compatible with the HP PageWide Pro 452dn, 452dw, and 552dw models and the HP PageWide Pro 477dw, 477dn, 577x, and 577dw Multifunction models.
Cartridges are available in different yields
The 972 cartridges are available in both standard-yield and extra-high-yield cartridges. Both provide some of the largest output volumes per cartridge in the industry. HP 972x ink cartridges are the higher-yield models. In addition, output from HP's standard-yield HP 972a ink cartridges are even competitive with some of the high-yield cartridges on the market. The two models produce the following per-cartridge output:
- Black 927x yields up to 10,000 pages
- C/M/Y 927x yields up to 7,000 pages
- Black 972a yields up to 3,500 pages
- C/M/Y 972a yields up to 3,000 pages
HP 972 cartridges use advanced ink technology
HP is an innovator in formulating media for ink and toner cartridges. HP's PageWide thermal inkjet system uses an advanced ink formulation that consists of colorant pigments and a colorless ink vehicle, or suspension, that binds the pigmented ink to paper. The pigmented medium dries and hardens at the surface of the paper rather than being absorbed into it. The text and images the HP 972 ink creates are durable and long lasting, and the blacks they produce are darker than other HP inks, with richer, more vivid colors. The ink is designed to function with any printer paper, from multipurpose to photo-quality paper in matte or gloss.
