Full Windows 10 capabilities

All Surface devices run Windows® 10. Some models such as the Surface Go tablet and Microsoft Surface laptop come with the Windows 10 in S mode operating system preinstalled. Microsoft offers a free, one-way upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. All other models, including the Microsoft Surface Book, have Windows 10 Pro preinstalled.

Windows 10 in S mode prevents the installation of malicious or non-approved software, an important consideration for institutions and schools. It does this by only allowing the installation of Microsoft verified applications from the Windows Store. In every other sense, Windows 10 in S mode is a full version of Windows 10. Additionally, all Surface models can run the full version of Microsoft Office.

Vivid PixelSense touch screens

All devices have PixelSense™ touch screens that offer brilliant, true colors. These high-resolution screens have a pixel density that varies from 197 pixels per inch through to 267, depending upon the model, that provide sharp, clear images, text, and videos.

All displays are compatible with the optional Microsoft Surface pen that allows users to write, draw, and annotate documents. The pens are customizable, have an eraser, and incorporate other features such as a right-click button and an LED light. the pens come with a selection of interchangeable artistic writing tips.

Accessories for Microsoft Surface Book

Expand the capabilities of your Surface tablet with the optional Microsoft Surface keyboard. Available in different colors, these high-quality keyboards attach to the tablets for increased comfort and convenience. Additionally, it’s possible to choose from a selection of third-party tablet keyboards.
