Freestanding office wall storage units are spacious

Units for housing media cases come in sectional arrangements to accommodate discs and tapes in single or combination collections. With height and width dimensions of 51 x 38.75 inches, double-section media wall storage units can contain 14 equally spaced shelves holding 640 CDs, 270 DVDs, 480 Blu-ray Discs, and 160 VHS cassettes. More versatile quad-section models with height and width dimensions of 63.75 x 73.5 inches can have up to 34 adjustable shelves, providing room for 1,520 CDs, 702 DVDs, 1,200 Blu-ray Discs, and 416 VHS cassettes. Slim, single tower storage units as tall as 63.75 inches can provide adjustable shelf room for 391 CDs, 189 DVDs, 320 Blu-ray Discs, and 112 VHS cassettes.

Wall storage that is durable and attractive

Quad and double-width wall storage models have to be sturdy to hold so many cases. Many options consist of laminated composite woods, layered and glued for solid, warp-resistant shelves and top and side panels. Sturdy MDF backing ties together the shelves and panels to maintain level and plumb integrity. Composite wood units normally come with trim edging in attractive hardwood veneers or black and other color laminates. Other options for media include metal shelving consisting of high-gauge steel or aluminum frames, also providing a robust structure with a range of powder-coated color finishes that match office decor.

Other media wall storage for the office

Freestanding wall models work well with other wall-based choices for holding media. Wall-mounted media storage opens up office space for tables and chairs below it. This choice offers ample space for tape and disc media, some with up to three-unit shelving, and most come with secure hanging rail systems for secure mounting. To keep important media secure, double-door wall storage media cabinets are available with lock systems. Many doors have offset hinges so they can open 180 degrees on both sides.

Wall storage units for other material

Several office wall storage selections are available for the workplace, providing different ways to house material other than tapes, discs, and books. Some of them include:

  • Slotted mail and literature sorters
  • Vertically slotted chart holders for files and folders
  • Hanging caddies for miscellaneous items like hats, gloves, or exercise shoes

These additional wall-mounted units work well with freestanding wall storage. Mail and letter sorters, in particular, are a good way to hold hard-copy indexes for tape and disc media.
