Correction Pens  (6 Products)
A white-out pen contains special paint-like liquid that covers up dark ink from printers or writing implements. The liquid dries and allows users to write on it to correct the now-hidden mistakes. Despite the prevalent use of printers, correction fluid still has many uses in office settings. There are few types of pens with various features that make covering up errors easier. Read More

White-out pen types

Initially, correction fluid came in bottle form with a brush similar to nail polish. Users applied the liquid to paper and then waited for it to dry. While this type is still available, the BIC® Wite-Out® pen type has become more prevalent. There are two types. One is a traditional pen style where users hold the product like a retractable ballpoint pen and draw or color the correction fluid over the paper. This allows people to cover smaller areas, such as fixing a single letter. With white-out correction tape, you also hold it like a pen, but it releases a thin strip that contains the fluid. Tape makes it easier to cover a whole word or sentence with a perfect line instead of unpredictable fluid.

White-out pen tip sizes

White-out correction pen and tape sizes determine how much space they cover. Most tape products are 1/5 or 1/6 of an inch wide and coat most printed 12-point fonts in one swipe. Pen styles often have fine-point tips (also called needle points) that allow users to fix precise areas, such as correcting a line of a single letter. Larger tips, such as medium-sized ones, work more like markers and allow users to color large areas faster.

White-out pen colors

Correction fluid and white-out pens come in a few different colors. The intention of white and yellow is to match the color of the paper so it isn’t so visible to the eye. People can use red and blue to label areas of the page for reference.

BIC White-Out pen uses

Correction writing instruments have several uses in office and home settings.

  • Fix errors on handwritten forms instead of starting over
  • Cover up private and sensitive information on printed documents
  • Mark on dark paper for craft projects
  • Label sections using colored correction fluid and then leave notes on the labels
  • Touch up paint on furniture, walls, or objects without having to buy an unneeded amount of paint
