If you want to stream media from your VGA monitor onto your new DisplayPort-enabled computer, use the StarTech Converter Cable. Its copper conductors ensure quick and lag-free transmission of data. This active DisplayPort adapter features a 20-pin DisplayPort male digital audio/video connector at one end and a 25-pin DVI-D male digital video connector at the other, which have a simple plug-and-play functionality. It measures 6 feet so that you can easily place your source at a comfortable distance.
