A kid's table offers flexibility

With a rectangular kid's table, teachers can quickly move children between groups throughout the day without having to rearrange the furniture, encouraging collaborative teams. Tables can also be easily pushed together to accommodate larger groups or use with modular storage units to define specific learning areas around the classroom. In addition, many models have legs that adjust in 1 inch height increments, or you can interchange legs of different lengths to grow with the students through the year. Sizes ranging from 18"" (h) x 59"" (l) x 30"" (d) to 22"" (h) x 59"" (l) x 30"" (d) mean that you can also accommodate groups of different sizes and can also make the best use of classroom space.

Choose the right kid's chair and table

Pick a table shape that best meets your instructional needs, whether for individual instruction, small groups, or whole-class lessons. Tables are available in several shapes and sizes:

  • Round
  • Square
  • Rectangular
  • Trapezoid
  • Kidney
  • Flower

In addition, tables come in a wide variety of colors, from natural wood with a UV finish to bright primary shades, to add a pop of fun to the school day. Coordinate the colored table legs with bulletin boards and other furnishings, or use them as a classroom organization tool when assigning students to groups.Use stacking and folding chairs that fit comfortably around the tables, providing space for two to eight children at each kid's table, depending on the table shape and dimensions. Or choose a table with a jungle print, surrounded by animal chairs, for an added bit of entertainment.

A laminate table is practical

Creative learning is messy, but a laminate table is easy to clean, whether students cover them with paint, glue, or even glitter. Both wood and polyethylene resin surfaces wipe easily with a non-abrasive wet cloth, but they are strong enough to hold up. Some models are topped with the same high-pressure laminate finish used on kitchen counters, meaning that they are also scratch resistant. In addition to being adjustable or interchangeable, the powder-coated upper and chrome-plated lower legs are sturdy and strong enough for rigorous daily use. Add an extra activity table or two for holding a classroom mailbox, art supplies, or other classroom materials. Most include rounded corners for safety, and some offer a choice between ball and swivel-glide feet. With their GreenGuard Gold Certification, they are also non-toxic, making them safe even for sensitive individuals.
