Types of protection from PVC-coated gloves

PVC is a non-reactive barrier to most chemicals, so PVC gloves provide excellent protection against the caustics, alkalis, solvents, paints, oils, and grease used in many manufacturing, automotive, maintenance, and janitorial applications. PVC is also resistant to abrasions, so gloves coated in PVC protect hands in work involving parts-handling and inspection, or for working with metal casings and steel stampings in such industries as aerospace, electrical, and defense. PVC gloves also come with double or triple coatings to give them cut and puncture resistance, particularly useful for mechanical work and the landscaping industry. The layering also gives them resistance to thermal extremes, so they’re the work glove of choice in food-handling and commercial fishing industries. Many PVC gloves contain low-temperature compounds so they retain their flexibility even in subzero temperatures.

The grip and flexibility of PVC-coated gloves

PVC can be molded into forms, even in thin gauges. Many PVC gloves are shaped to conform to the ergonomic grip of hands, replicating their curvature to reduce fatigue. Many also have a roughened or textured palm, so they’re able to handle many different materials, including those with wet surfaces. Others have etched-on, crinkle-grip finishes, mimicking the gripping soles of many safety work boots. PVC also retains its resilience, even in thick gauges, so the gloves remain flexible, adding to their secure grip.

PVC gloves with interior comfort

Like flock-lined safety gloves, many of the gloves coated with PVC have interior linings to make them more comfortable for workers to wear for extended periods of time. Most of the linings are cotton. Many are jersey cotton that absorbs and wicks away perspiration and thus allows the hands to breathe. Others are 100 percent cotton, providing a soft cushion for handling rough materials. Gloves with foam-insulated cotton provide added cushioning for higher impact work like mechanical repair.

Some other features

Some PVC-coated gloves offer qualities that add to their protection and comfort. They are:

  • Hand and machine-washable
  • Pre-sanitized to inhibit the growth of bacteria and control odors
  • Treated with additional coatings to resist certain substances such as petrochemicals
  • Padded in the palms, fingertips, and knuckles for impact resistance

PVC-coated gloves are available in sizes ranging from medium to 2XL. They also come in regular fit, with knitted wrists, in gauntlet style to provide added protection above the wrists, and in full-length sleeves, providing protection above the elbow.

PVC-Coated Gloves for Workplace Hand Protection

Lead the way in choosing the best hand protection for your hard-working employees by picking coated gloves. These specially treated gloves are dipped in a polyvinyl chloride solution that is resistant to a number of on-the-job hazards. Some PVC-coated gloves offer excellent protection from hazardous chemicals, including greasy oils that tend to soak through non-protective gloves. For workers who handle abrasive materials, choose abrasion-resistant gloves that your employees can wear while carrying out their tasks.

Protect Worker Hands From Hazardous Chemicals

Support the safety of your workers by supplying them with PVC-coated gloves that protect their hands from coming into contact with chemicals at your workplace. Buy chemical-resistant gloves in colors of your choice to prevent grease, oil and other liquid chemicals from accidentally getting on skin. After using our washable gloves, workers can remove and wash their gloves so they're ready to wear for the next task.

Prevent Workplace Abrasions and Burns

PVC-coated gloves are made from durable materials that make them sturdy enough to wear while employees engage in rigorous tasks that involve touching abrasive objects. Give these gloves to workers who encounter daily fire hazards to protect their hands from burns. Select standard or heavy-duty glove styles that include soft linings so workers remain comfortable as they flex and bend their fingers. These gloves are ideal for jobs that involve maintenance, manufacturing, construction and outdoor work that call for handling prickly or sharp objects.

Tough Yet Comfortable to Use

PVC-coated gloves are built to be tough on the outside and comfortably cool on the inside. This double protection makes them easy to wear as workers go about their normal duties. Glove construction allows for flexible gripping of objects.
